It makes my heart ache to know I won't be able to be there.

Whilst at the Argyll, be sure to try their Hanky-Panky for afters. Yum!

(Maitland, have you ever noticed how we often relate places with food? I even think of coffee when I think of Inchmahome Priory.)

That is generally all I think about, food !!

Inchmahome Priory and Loch Katrine for the coffee and most things edible remind me of the Sheriffmuir. Of all the places where we ate (Not that I ate much you understand !) I keep coming back to the Sheriffmuir. I think it is the history surrounding the place that brings me back there physically and mentally.

My Sister In law has said that she will baby sit some time soon and stump up the money for a meal (I did her a few favors) so we have decided a night out at the Sheriffmuir would be in order. I will of course raise a glass to you on the night

OK, we've got pictures -

The Dunoon Pipe Band, leading off the march

Mairead and Terry, following up the Na Fir Dileas banner (The tartan looks good, Mairead!)

Mairead, on her way to the Lamont Memorial

Marching up Tom-A-Mhoid Road, to the Memorial

Eddie, a member of Na Fir Dileas, preparing to lay flowers at the Memorial

The flowers from the Clann Alba Forums

The piper's lament

The Lord's Prayer

Flowers at the Memorial

Special thanks to Mairead for these images!

Nice pictures, it was a beautiful day, thanks for posting them. Who gave the other two floral arrangements? I was wondering if they were given by other groups.

It look like the Dunoon Pipe Band wears the Lamont tartan.

Jim L.
The other two floral tributes were laid by Na Fir Dileas and by my Husband Dave, who is a Lamont descendent.
The Pipe Band were wearing the Modern Lamont tartan.

Yes Knockdow. That is the Na Fir Dileas tartan which is registered to us. Our group consists of people from many different clans so we decided to design and have our own NFD tartan woven, instead of all sorts of tartans and tweeds being worn at events.
