Re: The Gathering

George, we'll have to meet up somewhere. As a matter of fact we should try to find out who is going from this and other forums and have a mini gathering of our own.

Re: The Gathering

hopefully we can meet in person before that.

The Clan Lamont society has a whole week planed around this

HOMECOMING SCOTLAND_/_INTERNATIONAL_GATHERING_OF_THE_CLANS_2009
2009 Has been designated the year of coming home by the Scottish executive. It will be a year of Scottish culture, a campaign to persuade people with Scots heritage to return to Scotland either on holiday or to live. 2009 was chosen because it is the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns. The organisers have chosen five central themes.
The home of....Robert Burns
The home of....Golf
The home of ....Whisky
The home of ....Enlightenment & innovation
The home of ....Your ancestors
There will be many events during that year The gathering being one of the main events.

Unfortunately I won't be going. A new baby will be here. I don't think my daughter Leslie, wants me to drag little Reaghan to Scotland.

Re: The Gathering

I would love to go, but next year I am planning to retire in the first quarter of 2009, so I haven't planned any big expenditures.
