Alexander I King of Scots 1077 - 1124

Scottish Monarch. The son of Malcolm III Canmore and Saint Margaret of Scotland, he succeeded his brother Edgar to the throne in 1107.

He was a strong ruler, a supporter of the church, and founded the Abbey on Inchcolm Island and a priory at Scone. He married Sybilla, an illegitimate daughter of King Henry I of England.

He died at Stirling at the age of 47. Having had no children, he was succeeded by his brother David.
