Want to take part in a Scottish commemoration?

Mairead, one of the forum moderators, has been busily putting together an event to take place in Dunoon, to commemorate the Lamont Massacre of 1646.

And she has graciously offered to lay flowers at the Lamont Memorial when the marchers arrive there, on behalf of the Clann Alba Forums.

We're asking the forum members for donations to cover a floral arrangement.

I realize some of you have a more direct tie to Dunoon than others, but this act will be done for the entire forum, not just those of us with Lamont ties.

Mairead was willing to cover the flowers out of pocket and we're not holding still for any of that. We've already received some donations and have got 35£ ready to send across.

We're up against it a bit, as time is running short. So we ask those that are considering a donation to please make it as quickly as possible. Please use the PayPal Forum Donation modules that appear on either the portal page or the forum's home page to make your donation.

After making your donation, please send a PM to either the Webmaster or myself, to let us know the funds are to be used for the flowers. We'll make the currency exchange on the date of the donation and once all the donations are in, I will send a check drawn on my Royal Bank of Scotland account across to Mairead. That way, we won't lose anything paying a bank to make the exchange and to wire the funds. We just need to let Mairead know how much money to expect and then I need to get the check to her in time to pay the florist.

For those unnamed members that have and that will donate, we thank you for your help. For those that simply cannot afford to donate anything, we certainly understand. These flowers will be laid on behalf of the forum, not the individual members that have donated.

Here's the challenge - Just how colorful can we make Tom-a-Mhoid (the Hill of Judgment) the day?

Re: Want to take part in a Scottish commemoration?

As of this writing, I have received payments of $110.00 (55.70£), less PayPal fees of 4.55 (2.30£), leaving an actual balance of $105.45 (53.40£).

Mairead, can you give us a reminder of the event date and also an idea of how soon you will need to receive the funds?
